Pay and Benefits

We value our whole team and make sure this is reflected in what we pay our care companions. For live-in care, we try to benchmark against other providers and go one step above where possible – for visiting care we’ll pay £11+ph and £##+ per day for live-in care. Bank holidays are paid at an enhanced rate and all staff receive 28 days of paid holiday a year pro-rata. Not only that, but we also have a good company pension scheme for your peace of mind. Live-In Care Companion

Guardian Live In Care is a small, family owned business in Aberdeen, providing tailored services across Aberdeenshire and Tayside. We are passionate about ensuring our customers receive the highest standards of care companionship. Our staff team are professional, agile and supportive.

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Care Companion to provide live-in care for our elderly client. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing companionship and emotional support, helping with daily activities, light housekeeping, and providing transportation to medical appointments. The ideal candidate will have a caring attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our client.

Guardian Live-In Care Career FAQs

First things first, apply to a role using our online application form. Successful candidates will then be invited for an interview either face-to-face or via Teams. In the next stage, an offer of employment will be made subject to successful recruitment checks (references / Disclosure Scotland PVG check) Once these checks come back, you will be invited to attend our induction to help you get to know the Guardian Live-In Care way. Finally, depending upon your experience, we will move you onto to assignment, and your career with us finally begins!

1. A reference from your current or most recent employer

2. PVG check – this is a mandatory criminal record check we are required to complete under our registration with the Care Inspectorate, the governing body that regulates and inspects care services in Scotland.

3. Overseas checks – Applicable if you have lived outside of the United Kingdom for 6 months or more in the last 5 years, we will require you to arrange and personally fund this check and present the report to us.

Yes. Unlike some introductory agencies, we are a fully managed service and Guardian (Live-In) Care will be your employer and will provide you with a contract of employment.

Our payroll is run monthly.

We don’t make uniforms mandatory; however, we expect our companions’ appearance to be smart and professional at all times when on placement and during training. Smart jeans and trainers are acceptable, ripped clothing of any nature would not be considered acceptable.

We cover all the cities, towns, villages, and more rural areas in the Northeast of Scotland. We will look to match you with a client, based upon your skills, the client’s needs, their likes, and dislikes, rather than your availability etc. Our goal is to provide the perfect companionship, the relationship between client and companion must be just right.

A driver’s licence is an advantage, but not a requirement. We have clients who live rurally, and a driving licence is necessary, but we would not place a non-driver in this placement. The client provides the care and the insurance if this is part of the placement and can be used for excursions and shopping etc to meet the needs of the client.
